FAQ

1. Is English support available?

Yes. Our instructors provide explanations in English and Japanese.

2. How long does the experience take?

The whole experience usually takes about 20–30 minutes.

3. What is included in the tea ceremony experience?

Our program includes a guided introduction to the Japanese tea ceremony, learning how to make matcha yourself, and enjoying seasonal Japanese sweets.

4. Do I need to wear a kimono?

No, a kimono is not required. You can join in your everyday clothes. However, if you wish, you can also rent a kimono at our partner store Aiwafuku before the ceremony.

5. Can children join?

Yes. Children aged 6 and older can participate at the regular adult price. There is no separate child price.

For children under 6, please note the following:

• Participation:
  Children under 6 cannot participate in the matcha-making experience for safety reasons, as hot water is used.
• Admission Fee:
  Free for accompanying children under 6.
• Private Session:
  We recommend booking a private session if you are bringing children under 6.
• Leaving the Room:
  During shared sessions, if a child cries, moves around, or disturbs other guests, we may ask you to temporarily leave the room.
• Refunds:
  No refunds will be provided if you need to leave the session for the reasons above.

6. Do I need to book in advance?

Reservations are recommended, as seating is limited. Same-day bookings are accepted if space is available.

7. How much does it cost?

The standard plan is ¥3,500 per person (including matcha and sweets). Kimono rental is available for an additional fee.

8. Can I take photos or videos during the ceremony?

Photos are welcome at certain points of the experience. For videos, please check with the instructor before recording.

9. Do you offer private or group sessions?

Yes. Private sessions are available for an additional ¥22,000 per group, per session, in addition to the regular participant fees.

Private sessions are especially recommended for:

• Families with children under 6
• Groups
• Guests who prefer a more private setting
• Guests who would like professional photography during the tea ceremony

Professional photography during the tea ceremony requires a private session.

Private sessions are subject to availability because another reservation may already be scheduled for your preferred time. They cannot be booked directly online.

10. Do you offer allergy-friendly sweets?

Please tell us about any food allergies when booking or before your visit. Depending on the allergy, we may be able to change the sweets. We do our best, but we cannot guarantee complete removal of allergens. For severe allergies, multiple allergies, or last-minute requests, we may not be able to accommodate.

11. Is my reservation time the start of the tea experience?

No, your reservation time is your arrival time.

If you booked a kimono plan, the tea ceremony or matcha experience will begin after dressing. The exact start time will be provided at reception.
